I had my daughter model it!
I have fun making things obnoxiously uneven!
I cut the side seams from the jeans to make the side and neck straps.
The but pockets were much cuter cut apart and set slightly uneven!
I had to make sure I left the tag!
I made button holes in the neck and sides to push the side strips through and then I just tied knots in them to keep them in!
I used my serger( AMAZING invention!) to attatch all the edges...LOVE the random pocket!
How cute! Great idea, have so many jeans pieces and parts from mending hubby's jeans, this will be great!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I know a few I could make them for as gifts! I was getting ready to throw out my old jeans, and I have many! I have a question... What is a Serger? I am new to all this, and feel so uneducated about some of it. Sorry for the silly question! THANKS IN ADVANCE!!
ReplyDeleteCandy,
ReplyDeleteThat's not a silly question at all! The only silly questions are the unasked ones! If you turn your t-shirt inside out and look at the seam where the sleave meets the middle of the shirt, see how nice and finished the seam looks? It was done by a serger or "overlock machine". They are like sewing machines that lock the stitches in and make for a better finished edge. You can get them pretty affordably on ebay! I love mine!
Very good idea!
ReplyDeleteVery creative! We just did a Jean Recycle Project on Sew Much Talent, you should check it out...there were a couple of aprons.
